Shopping service

 

Our shopping services are great for clients that are independent and can walk around the shopping centre on their own and do their shopping, but would like a bit of assistance with loading their groceries into the vehicle and taking it to their front door for them when they’re dropped off at home.

The shopping services are a group service where clients get picked up with a bus and taken to their local shops. They are able to spend a couple of hours there and do their shopping. Once finished, our friendly staff help load their groceries onto the bus and unload and take it to their front door when they’re dropped off at home. If needed, our staff can take it inside for them and place it on their kitchen table as courtesy. Shopping services are usually run once a fortnight for each area but the frequency can be tailored to each client if more, or less is needed. We are at your service and are champions of looking after you when you’re travelling with us by enhancing rather than impeding on your independence.

The cost for the shopping service is $10 for a return trip which includes complimentary dad jokes from the driver on the day. New clients over 65 (or 50 if Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander origin) must apply for services by contacting My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
